OUR MISSION

The mission of Friends of the Ridgewood Public Library is to raise funds outside the library’s operating budget in order to provide cultural and educational programming and enhance its comprehensive collections.

WHAT WE DO
FOL What We Do

Since its inception in 1980, Friends has provided the Ridgewood Public Library with vital funds that supplement the operating budget. These funds provide so much more than books and media!

Here are just a few of the programs supported by your donation:

Reading Marathon

The annual school-based Reading Marathon is held throughout the month of February for all Ridgewood students in preschool through grade 8 to raise funds for children and teen programming & books.

Author Luncheon

Held annually since 1990, the Author Luncheon has become a beloved community gathering and is a keystone fundraising event featuring a bestselling author, seated lunch, and silent auction.  Previous authors have included Madeline Miller, Min Jin Lee, Jamie Ford, Lisa See, Harlan Coben, Mary Higgins Clark, Yaa Gyasi, Geraldine Brooks and many more.
